Matthew E. Emanuel, MD – Biography
Glaucoma Associates of Texas is excited to announce that Matthew E. Emanuel MD, our sixth fellowship trained physician, has joined our team and is available to see patients starting September 2, 2014. Although a native Californian and avid traveler, Dr. Emanuel is eager to settle down and call Texas home.
Dr. Emanuel completed his undergraduate training at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in molecular biology and graduated as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He subsequently pursued his medical degree at Vanderbilt University followed by his residency in ophthalmology at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. While at the Emory Eye Center, Dr. Emanuel was appointed as Chief Resident in Ophthalmology for two consecutive years. His clinical, surgical, and research interests in glaucoma and cataracts led him to a world class glaucoma fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida.
